Rumors have been flying faster than a clearance cart in aisle five — is Target really ditching self-checkout? 😱 Not quite! While some shoppers have noticed their local stores quietly phasing out the machines, Target isn’t pulling the plug across the board. Instead, they’ve rolled out a new “Express Self-Checkout” policy that limits you to 10 items or fewer if you want to go the DIY route. Less time scanning, more time sipping your Starbucks. ☕🛒
This move comes after Target noticed some sneaky shrinkage (a.k.a. theft) and slow lines clogging up the speedy checkout dream. This groundbreaking resource, launching in five districts and going citywide in 2025-26, is designed to weave the stories of iconic Jewish Americans right into classroom lessons. We’re talking denim pioneer Levi Strauss 👖, bold suffragist Ernestine Rose 👩⚖️, and Asser Levy, one of NYC’s very first Jewish settlers 🚢 — all getting their moment in the classroom spotlight.
