🚨 Sisters on a Mission! Ezras Nashim Expands to Crown Heights & Flatbush 💪🚑
You might’ve heard the distinct sirens and seen the bright lights of Ezras Nashim, the all-women volunteer ambulance squad zipping through Borough Park. Well, guess what? They just added a brand-new ambulance to their fleet — and now they’re rolling into Crown Heights and Flatbush with even more heart and horsepower ❤️🚐💨.
Their mission is simple: help people feel safe and supported during emergencies, especially in moments when privacy and comfort matter most. With volunteers spread across the community — sirens, lights, and gear at the ready — help is never far away. Even as city ambulance response times slow down, Ezras Nashim’s neighborhood-based network keeps things moving fast. 💨❤️💡
And with traffic snarling city response times, Ezras Nashim has a unique edge: their volunteers are everywhere — moms, daughters, neighbors — equipped and ready in their own cars with sirens and gear. When a call comes in, someone nearby jumps into action. No waiting for an ambulance to leave a garage. Just pure, fast, compassionate care — powered by women, for everyone. 💙🚗💡 Need them? Call 718-232-1300 anytime, 24/7.
🛍️ Self-Checkout Showdown: What’s Really Happening at Target? 🔍🤖
Rumors have been flying faster than a clearance cart in aisle five — is Target really ditching self-checkout? 😱 Not quite! While some shoppers have noticed their local stores quietly phasing out the machines, Target isn’t pulling the plug across the board. Instead, they’ve rolled out a new “Express Self-Checkout” policy that limits you to 10 items or fewer if you want to go the DIY route. Less time scanning, more time sipping your Starbucks. ☕🛒
This move comes after Target noticed some sneaky shrinkage (a.k.a. theft) and slow lines clogging up the speedy checkout dream. Since the change, they say transaction times have improved by nearly 8%! 📉💡 Some stores may still make their own decisions (like removing the self-checkout altogether), but there’s no nationwide checkout apocalypse. So unless your cart is overflowing with BOGO deals, you can still beep your own way out the door. 🔔🧼📦
Bottom line: self-checkout isn’t going extinct — it’s just getting a makeover. So keep those barcodes ready (as long as it’s 10 items or less), and don’t believe everything you hear in the cart corral! 😄🧾📣

🎓 Hidden No More! NYC Shines a Spotlight on Jewish American Trailblazers ✡️📘
Get ready to flip the script on social studies! 🎬🗽 NYC Schools Chancellor Melissa Aviles-Ramos just rolled out a brand-new pilot called Hidden Voices: Jewish Americans — and it’s about to make history way more personal. This groundbreaking resource, launching in five districts and going citywide in 2025-26, is designed to weave the stories of iconic Jewish Americans right into classroom lessons. We’re talking denim pioneer Levi Strauss 👖, bold suffragist Ernestine Rose 👩⚖️, and Asser Levy, one of NYC’s very first Jewish settlers 🚢 — all getting their moment in the classroom spotlight.
But this isn’t just a history book drop — it’s a celebration of representation 🕍🎉. Hidden Voices isn’t a separate curriculum, but rather a window and a mirror: it helps students see themselves while exploring the lives and legacies of others. Think blue jeans, bagels 🥯, justice, and polio vaccines 💉 — all tied to the Jewish community’s rich legacy in New York and beyond. And here’s the best part: the resource will be totally free for educators nationwide at weteachnyc.org. Because history should be for everyone — especially when it’s this inspiring. 💫
